For this year the Township once again has not increased taxes to the taxpayers of Falls Township.
The Township was able to continue with its services to the public and meet all of its goals when
preparing the 2007 udget. For every property tax dollar you pay less than 10 cents goes to Falls Township.
In addition, the Township has no nuisance taxes such as the EIT, Occupation Tax or Per Capita. Many other
Townships use these taxes to supplement their operating expenses. Falls is proud to say these are not
necessary.
The Township's 2008 budget season is about to begin. The department will be working closely with the other
departments to assure all of their items are included and financially feasible for the purchase. Ultimately,
the Board of Supervisors will have the ability to review and approve this document. The Township's budget will
be on display for public review in the Township building, the Fallsington Library, and the Township's website in
the fall.
The Township's Host Community fund has provided the Township with the funding required to pay for the Road
Programs. The 2007 road program is underway and this will be paid entirely from this fund. This fund's revenues
are generated from the Landfill operted by Waste Management
The Township has over $32 million in its long term restricted savings account. This savings account was
started in the year 2000 and since then has grown to the amount it is today. The savings accumulated were only
possible through the efforts of the Board of Supervisors ability to maintain reasnable spending while offering
all the servies provided to the Township residents.
The Department was recently recognized with a Certificate of Achievement by the General Finance Officers
Association (GFOA) for the Comprehensive Annual Finance Statements for the year ending December 31, 2005.
This was the eighth year in a row the TOwnship received this award.
The Department recently had a change as Jo Ann Rodgers has accepted the title of Township's Finance Director.
Jo Ann has been with the Township since November 20, 2006. Prior to working at Falls, Jo Ann worked at Jones
of New York in Bristol, PA.
