Amore Restaurant

A self-taught chef, Erind Hysenaj has perfected recipes for a variety of Italian dishes at Amore Restaurant, which he co-owns with his brother, Gledis.
The Albanian native had been cooking in restaurants for the last 13 years before the brothers opened Amore at the former site of Pat’s Pizza & Bistro in May 2024.
“Things are going really well here,” Erind said, adding that he’d welcome the opportunity to possibly open a second location. “In the future, why not?”
Amore’s large menu features traditional favorites like chicken parmigiana, pork chop parmigiana, veal piccata, chicken marsala, antipasto, fried calamari, as well as a variety of pastas, seafood entrees, salads, soups, and a wide selection of paninis for lunch.
The 86-seat eatery features a rustic, welcoming ambiance. The dining room of the restaurant can be rented out for special occasions or parties. Amore also offers takeout, and catering for both hot and cold items, such as pasta, seafood platters, meatballs, eggplant parmesan, chicken piccata, sandwiches, Caesar salad, tiramisu and more.
Some family recipes have been woven into the Hysenaj family’s restaurant, Erind said. Before leaving Albania, Erind didn’t have much interest in cooking. Instead, he enjoyed his mother’s cooking.
After relocating to the U.S., cooking became his “first option.”
Like other restaurants and businesses in the foodservice industries, Amore has been hit hard by inflation and continually rising food costs. Still, the menu reflects pricing that is modest for the large portion sizes and high-quality dishes the restaurant has become known for.
“It’s very difficult for us,” Erind said. “Everything’s going up. We try to manage.”
