Meeting Details
The EAC meets the 2nd Thursday of every month at 7:00 pm at our temporary location located at 450 Lincoln Highway, Fairless Hills, PA 19030.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Falls Township Environmental Advisory Council is to advise Township officials on the protection, conservation, and enhancement of the Township’s natural resources and environmental quality. The Council serves as a resource to identify environmental issues, evaluate opportunities, and recommend strategies that support sustainable land use, environmental stewardship, and the long-term well-being of the Falls Township community.
Purpose
The purpose of the Falls Township Environmental Advisory Council is to provide non-binding advice and recommendations to the Board of Supervisors, the Planning Commission, the Park and Recreation Board, and other appropriate governmental bodies on matters affecting the natural environment within Falls Township.
In carrying out this purpose, the Council may:
- Identify and examine environmental issues and challenges within the Township.
- Review development plans, land use proposals, and other materials pending Township consideration, when referred to the Council, for the limited purpose of identifying potential environmental impacts and offering non-binding observations or suggestions to Township boards and commissions, as appropriate.
- Recommend plans, policies, and programs that promote the conservation of natural resources and improve environmental quality.
- Encourage and support community environmental education and engagement initiatives.
- Recommend potential uses of open land and green spaces consistent with environmental protection goals.
- Advise Township officials and agencies on matters related to the acquisition or preservation of land for environmental purposes.
The Environmental Advisory Council serves strictly in an advisory capacity and has no authority to make decisions, set policy, or take action on behalf of Falls Township. The Council shall not perform any duties or exercise any powers that are conferred upon or reserved to state agencies or other governmental entities by law.
Committee Composition
The EAC is a 7 member board with 3 year terms. Members are appointed by the Board of Supervisors.
